We spent the week listening to bunny tales and pretending to be bunny rabbits! One, Two, Three, Oops! by Michael Coleman is always a favorite.
A “hole in the ground” was a fun place
in which to hide...
Here is a bunny with ears so funny
(hold up two fingers)
And here is a hole in the ground.
(use fingers on other hand to make a “hole”)
When a noise he/she hears,
He/She perks up his/her ears
(straighten fingers)
And he/she jumps in the hole
in the ground!
At our manipulative table, we had lots of different colors and designs of eggs to sort and count. We practiced being the favorite bunny of all times- the Easter Bunny! An egg spinner added to the sensory fun.
Our sensory bins were filled with chicken seed, plastic eggs and little fuzzy chicks.
It was fun to decorate headbands and add bunny ears to add to our dramatization of our favorite bunnies.
After watching real bunnies hop on YouTube, and listening to "The Bunny Hop", we used bunny tails for painting.
A must for every bunny is a bouncer for a lot of expert jumping practice.
Bunny footprints provided us with a trail for hopping.
As we hopped we sang:

Little Rabbit Foo Foo by Michael Rosen was a really, silly book but we loved listening to it and singing along.
Dipping hard boiled eggs in paint , we rolled them back and forth in a pan. We had two masterpieces- an egg and a painting! We ate the egg for lunch.
Listen Buddy, by Helen Lester, reminded us how important it is to use our "listening ears".
We played a listening game called "Bunny Says" for practice. We got to take turns being the bunny...
Our favorite bunny tale was The Tale of Peter Rabbit by Beatrix Potter. We read several books with different illustrators. This one had our favorite pictures...
To the tune of "Battle Hymn of the Republic", we sang a song about Peter Rabbit that goes like this:
Little Peter Rabbit had a fly upon his nose

We planted some radish seeds for Peter Rabbit in some cute little egg cups. We added googly eyes and a tail.
Our Egg Hunt was loads of fun. The Easter Bunny surprised us by hiding eggs outside even though it had started snowing. There were lots of fun prizes tucked inside the eggs.
