Santa's Workshop December 19-23

It was a busy week way up north in Santa’s Workshop. We were being Santa’s elves making special things.

We did take a break for a winter picnic.
We sang lots of our favorite Christmas carols. We sang along to Iza Trapani's new book, Jingle Bells.

We used little people- Santa and his elves for pretend play. They traveled on the Polar Express to get to the North Pole.

We loved reading Polar Express by Chris Van Allsburg
and The Night Before Christmas by Jan Brett.
After reading The Wild Christmas Reindeer  by Jan Brett again this week we couldn't forget Santa’s reindeer.
We scooped oats in a bag and added colored sugar so that the reindeer could spot the food in the moonlight. As we worked, we sang, "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer".

We made cookies for Santa Claus to leave out for him on Christmas Eve. We sang "Up on the Housetop" and "Santa Claus is Coming to Town".

We used our handprints and pictures of ourselves to make something special for mom and dad. Wrapping them up in style, we really did feel like Santa's elves.
Merry Christmas!
